DMR-800LRIT : Long Range Identification & Tracking - SkyWave Terminal
Passenger ships, cargo ships of 300 gross
tonnage and upwards, and mobile offshore
drilling units are mandated to have LRIT
compliance by December 31st 2008. This
means reporting identity, position and
timestamp at regular, configurable intervals.
Even though many field-installed terminals
already in use for GMDSS2 or SSAS3 are
capable of supporting LRIT, many need to
be manually upgraded or require a
supplemental unit for compliance or
demarcation from uses such as email.
DMR-800LRIT uses IsatM2M, a service
optimized for position and status reporting
based on enhancements to Inmarsat D+.
It offers a compelling cost advantage in
situations where you need to consider
upgrading or installing new units on ships.
1 – International Convention for Safety Of Life At Sea
2 – Global Maritime Distress Safety System
3 – Ship Security Alert System
All the features and benefits of the DMR-800L including:
· Enhanced low-elevation performance for operation at sea is the only IsatM2M terminal type approved by Inmarsat to minus 20 degree angle of elevation. · Seamless global coverage based on the highly reliable Inmarsat satellite constellation operating over 5 ocean regions including PAC-C. · Extended operating temperature range allows reliable deployment in some of the world’s most
demanding environments. · Discrete input feed empowers ship’s master with discretionary control of report transmissions. · Over-the-air programming enables remote reconfiguration of reporting frequency in full compliance with LRIT. · Embedded Data Log stores months of historical operating data that can be selectively queried without the cost of dispatching a technician.
